Sony PSP “Lite” rumors continue
As more details continue to flow down the pipeline, there seems to be a trend… the subtitled “PlayStation Portable Lite” begins to emerge. The idea of a second coming of the PSP is something that has been floating around for months now.
Once again, Kotaku is the source of these rumors. Kotaku is right about 95% of the time, so I have no reason to doubt them on this one.
According to Kotaku’s sources, the redesigned PSP will include the same internal hardware, but with a much slimmer external design. The new PSP will be getting a sporty LED screen that will not only minimize the depth of the PSP, but improve the image quality (if that is even possible!). Since the screen will be running off LEDs, the battery life should be about four times longer than its predecessor.
The new PSP Lite will still take UMDs, however, the drive will be much faster which should improve game loading times. The system will also come with a whopping 8-gigs of internal flash memory! Sounds like Sony has been listening to us.
Finally, the external design - buttons and all - will be completely revamped with a more PS3-inclined theme. Apparently, Sony is not sure whether or not the PSP redesign will include a webcam because of cost issues.
The price tag of the new, slimmer PSP is supposedly very reasonable, and will replace the current model at the $170 price point. The final product will be revealed at this year’s E3 business expo. The release date is set for August - September (August in Japan, September worldwide?) This makes perfect sense, considering the awesome lineup of games coming to the PSP this fall.

wow people need to get they info right its not a psp2 its called (milo) just like the helio but u can only make call or communicate wit other ppl dat have it and they might have games 4 it dat u would have to download cause it looks way to small to for any disk of any kind but who knows!!!!!!!!
Well, keep in mind that this article was posted back in June before the new PSP Slim was announced. There is still no official word on a PSP2, but the PSP Slim is definitely coming next month.
The Sony Mylo is a totally different category, but some people still suspect that the PSP2 will be very similar to the Mylo.
