Monster Hunter Portable 2nd translated!

It’s true! An English-speaking fan of the series didn’t have the patience to wait for the upcoming English ver. of Monster Hunter for PSP.

GameFAQs poster ZealOfSoul claims he has successfully created a patch for Monster Hunter Portable 2nd that translates most of the menus into English. Pretty much everything in the game has been translated from Japanese except the dialogue and quest descriptions.

Unfortunately, the patch still has a ways to go, and ZealOfSoul isn’t sure if he’ll be releasing it to the public at all. The patch isn’t very accessible either. First, you must have a hacked PSP and a general knowledge of homebrew to use it. It’s also unclear whether the patch relies on an ISO of the game, or if its compatible with the UMD ver.

In any case, we’ll let you know as soon as the patch is made available for download.
