New Syphon Filter game on the way

With the success of Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, it would only make sense for the game to get a follow-up for the PSP at some point. Looks like we may be closer to one than I first thought.

GameSpot has posted about an upcoming PSP title called Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow to be released September 4th. Many consider Syphon Filter to be the best FPS for the PlayStation Portable. Will Logan’s Shadow live up to the reputation?

Update! Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow was confirmed for the PSP at Sony’s Gamer Day event today. This is certainly great news for PSP owners. The game will be a continuation of the series. This time, a dangerous new weapon in the hands of terrorists threatens the safety of the world (sound familiar?).

The game will include some interesting twists, including the ability to use enemies as human shields and underwater exploration. The cut-scenes will now be interactive, in order to keep the game flowing. The cut-scenes were my biggest complaint about the original game, so its good to see this changed.

Check out the first few trailers for Logan’s Shadow below.

“When head shots get old, there’s the taser” video

“Your partner’s missing” video

These graphics look absolutely beautiful. I look forward to seeing more of this game in the coming months!
