Valhalla Knights - what’s the problem?

Valhalla Knights was finally released yesterday. Everyone, including myself, had high hopes for this game. All of the beautiful screenshots and gameplay videos just made it look so promising.
Unfortunately, early reviewers of the game have rated it as one of the worst PSP games ever. In fact, Valhalla Knights has made IGN’s ten worst rated PSP games of all time. What a shame.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s that horrible, though. From the little that I’ve played, Valhalla Knights has its share fun moments. GamePro gave the game a 3.25/5 fun factor, which is pretty good for them. GameSpot on the other hand, rated Valhalla Knights 5.6/10, declaring it a mediocre attempt and a “repetitive dungeon crawler.”
With all of the attention that Valhalla Knights has received, it’s sure to sell wonders no matter how bad the reviews are. The overall conclusion seems to be that the game’s story drags to a halt after the first few dungeons, and annoying quirks prevent the game from being any fun.
If it’s dungeon crawling your after, sounds like you had better stick with Untold Legends for now. Perhaps Valhalla Knights will be worth picking up in a few months after the price goes down - for the gorgeous graphics if nothing else.
