PSP gets Galaxy’s End RTS game?

Galaxy's End RTS for PSP

One genre of games that most companies shy away from building on home consoles is RTS. However, not only is one headed our way, but it’s a PSP exclusive. From what we know so far, the game will have a Starcraft-esque feel, allowing you to build and command a squad to take out the enemy.

Thanks to the PSP’s powerful hardware, the game will be able to deliver tons of enemies on the screen at once, so you know that action won’t get dulled down. The most promising aspect of Galaxy’s End is that it will support both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure multiplayer.

The only problem: the game lacks a publisher. Its been developed by the new game design group, Tiki Games. The group hasn’t had much experience in the market, so it’s likely that publishers are cautious about picking up one of their titles.

PSP Fanboy was lucky enough to get a hands-on with the game at the Game Developer’s Conference this week, and had this to say:

“The graphics look quite nice on the PSP’s screen. The game is surprisingly colorful, and features a good deal of animation… It’ll be months before the game ever comes out (if it does), but even at this early stage, the controls felt solid. The basic controls involve simply pressing the X and Square buttons to select troops and target enemies. Moving with the analog nub felt precise, thanks to tweaking done by Tiki Games.”

This game sounds extremely promising, so let’s just hope it makes it to store shelves.
