New information on FF: Tactics leaked

A PSPGN reader sent us a bunch of new leaked information on Final Fantasy: Tactics The Lion War today. First of all, we finally know the release date for the Japanese version of Final Fantasy Tactics on the PSP. The Japanese gaming mag, Famitsu, has listed the date as May 10th. This doesn’t give a whole lot of information about the US and EU counterpart, which could be released as late as next fall.

We have some bits of new information on the plot as well. The Lion War will not be a direct port of the original PS1 game, but a completely new adventure. The story takes place during the same time as the original, so many of the original characters will be present in the PSP version. On top of the revamed graphics, the PSP sequel will sport a brand new battle system.
