God of War rumors shot down AND confirmed?

There certainly has been a lot of buzz lately about a possible God of War game coming to Sony’s PlayStation Portable. However, the rumors were largely shot down after an interview with a leading developer for Ready at Dawn.
In the interview, Cory Barlog, director of the upcoming God of War II, discussed the possibility of a PSP title but denied there was one already in production. When asked about a God of War game on the PSP, Barlog replied, “That would be awesome. I mean, I’ve been a big proponent of that concept for quite a while. I want it on every possible system you could put it on. I think it’s definitely a possibility. It’s not something we haven’t discussed but it’s not something we’re actively discussing right now.”
Since Barlog denies any GOW development for the PSP, perhaps the incident with Ready at Dawn’s website was a simple mistake.
The good news is that Barlog definitely seems enthusiastic about bring the God of War franchise to the PSP at some point. In fact, you can almost infer from the interview that God of War will be coming to the PSP.
Stay tuned for more updates about God of War!
