PSP downloadable demo wishlist

The PSP has been getting an awful lot of downloadable demos lately. Some of them are good, but let’s face it, most of them just suck. However, even a sucky demo is better than no demo. And there is no better way to promote your game than to let players try it out! Just look at what Sony did for LocoRoco. The game caught on like wildfire after they let PSP owners download a demo.

So, we at PSPGN have compiled a list of the games we most wish we could get a downloadable demo of.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops - MGS: Portable Ops is hailed by many as the best PSP game to date. There’s only one way to convince the skeptics: let them play it!

Lumines II - The PSP doesn’t exactly need any more puzzle demos, but hey, Lumines is just a downright cool game. If they release any more puzzle demos for download, let’s hope it’s Lumines!

Tekken: Dark Resurrection - Hands down the best fighting game for the PlayStation Portable (well - that is if you ignore Power Stone Collection). We’ve seen plenty of racing and puzzle demos, so let’s top it off with a demo download of a solid fighter!

GTA: Vice City Stories - Ok, the Grand Theft Auto series doesn’t exactly need any promotion. However, for veterans of the series like myself, a Vice City Stories downloadable demo for the PSP would be a nice trial to see how different the game is from its PS2 original.

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters - Despite the fact that the Ratchet & Clank series is one of the best platforming games on PlayStation consoles, the games are highly underappreciated. The newest title in the series just hit the PSP several days ago, and is clearly one of the best platforming games the system has. Unfortunately, sales will probably not live up to titles like Daxter and Sonic. A Ratchet & Clank demo would definitely boost sales and attract new fans to the series.

Final Fantasy FVII: Crisis Core - This game defined the PSP from the beginning. People bought a PSP just for this game. Square-Enix even put out a demo at Jump Fiesta in Japan last year. Unfortunately, the demo has never been released to the public. Come on Square, give us what we really want – a downloadable demo of FFVII: Crisis Core!
