God of War coming to PSP?

God of War was a smash hit on the PlayStation 2, so it would make sense for the PSP to get a God of War port, at minimum. According to a Spanish website, MeriStation, Ready At Dawn may be working on a portable continuation of the revered franchise. Ready At Dawn is famous for their work on Daxter, which is still one of the system’s most technically impressive games.

The God of War series focuses on slick, intuitive third-person arcade style gameplay. The original game was known for its advanced graphics engine and amazing musical score. It was very well received and was the recipient of many awards, including “Game of the Year” honors.

However, insider tips have been floating around the net for a while now about a PSP God of War game. On top of all of the rumors, the Ready at Dawn’s website shows a preview of a new God of War game. Many speculate these ads to be a teaser for a new God of War game on the PSP. While this would be exciting, don’t get your hopes up quite yet. God of War II is coming out next month, so all this hype may very well be a reference to GOWII.

Either way, I hope that Ready at Dawn takes notice of how badly people want a God of War Portable.
