PSP 3.03 Downgrader Released
Now, everyone can finally share the joy of homebrew on the PlayStation Portable. Noobz has just released a long-awaited firmware downloader for 3.03 users. The downgrader will actually work with any firmware: 2.0, 2.71, 2.8, 3.0, 3.01, 3.02 etc. If your PSP is not 3.03, then simply update so that you can downgrade.
The downgrader is made possible by a little glitch with GTA: Liberty City Stories. It was thought that the bug was patched after 2.8, but apparently Sony never got around to it. Now, thanks to the hardworking Noobz team and the homebrew community, anyone can downgrade their PSP to firmware 1.5 (homebrew gold). Also keep in mind that if you downgrade to 1.5, you can still run all the pleasures of the latest firmware with firmware emulation.
Unfortunantly, in order to do all this, you will need an unpatched version of Liberty City Stories. Basically one of the original copies of GTA:LCS from way back in the day. New copies of LCS have been updated to fix the exploit.
Not only has Noobz released a 3.03 downgrader but they’ve also managed to release a 3.03 Homebrew Enabler for the PSP. So if you don’t want to completely downgrade, you can still enjoy the pleasure of homebrew on 3.03. The HEN (Homebrew Enabler) will temporarily patch your PSP’s memory, allowing you to run homebrew as if you had v1.5. However, this patch will only remain in effect until you turn off your PSP - but it will survive sleep mode. The HEN for 3.03 firmware also requires an original Liberty City Stories UMD.
To download the 3.03 downgrader or Homebrew Enabler, see the guide on Noobz official site.

can there be a 3.1 downgrader released? I thought there was no hope for my 3.03 FW so I went ahead and upgraded and now I wanna kick myself in the head for it! Please help!
The good news is that 3.1 has been decrypted already, so there is potential for a 3.1 downgrader in the future. It just depends if Sony has patched the bugs or not.
Isn’t there a way to do it without GTA.. like another game or anything else?
