PSP Lite on the way?
Don’t get your hopes up for a PSP2 anytime soon. Sony has laid out their plans for the PSP over the next year. If they had a new handheld coming anytime soon, they would be working harder to sell PSP units to fund the new project. Besides, Sony has their hands full with the PS3 right now. But something more sinister is definitely brewing at Sony.
Recently, Nvidia signed on to handle some new hardware production for a Sony product. The most obvious conclusion is that Sony is working on the anticipated PSP2. Some reports are coming out that we may even see the PSP2 as early as E3 2007.
I highly doubt this. A PSP2 just doesn’t make any sense right now. Sony is fiercely competing with DS sales. The DS Lite is here to stay for a long time, so there is no reason for Sony to release an entirely new handheld gaming system. Besides, support for the PSP is finally kicking off and things are looking up for them.
Despite all this, I am 99% sure that a PSP “Lite” is on the way. A slimmer, PS3 influenced, PlayStation Portable, most likely including some cool new feature like a built-in flash drive or a camera. A refreshed PSP would do wonders for Sony.
Personally, I am satisfied with the PSP now. I just wish they would get on with releasing all the features they promised us ages ago. I don’t know if I would purchase a PSP Lite… at least not initially. Would you?

i know sony didn’t anounce a ps2p or psp lite at e3 this year i like that picture of what would be sonys answer to the dual screen ds it looks awesome and if they did make something like that i would buy it. although sony did anounce a lightere slimer shinier psp that will start coming in multiple colors to nort america. so yay!
