What PSP firmware can be downgraded?

Downgrading your PSP is pretty simple. But I often get asked what firmware versions can you downgrade from? Here’s the short answer…

Any PSP with firmware 2.8 or lower (2.71, 2.7, etc) can be downgraded to firmware 1.5.

The long answer is that this will change over time. PSP hackers have already cracked 3.02 and 3.03 firmware, and it is likely that you will be able to downgrade these versions some day. However, don’t hold you breath for these downgraders. The homebrew community is mainly focusing their efforts on improving homebrew apps and custom firmware.

Yes, you are correct. This was posted on January 5th though, before 3.03 was able to be downgraded.
