PSP Firmware 3.02 Released

For some reason, Sony has released a new firmware update, version 3.02. The only known changes are minor security updates. It’s possible there is more behind this, but the PSP dev community hasn’t unwrapped it yet.

What’s most interesting about the update is that Sony was supposedly going to release another major firmware update in the next couple weeks (3.1?), to accompany the Loco Roco Holiday and FFVII: Crisis Core demos. Why would they keep putting out these tiny updates instead of just including them in 3.1?

3.02 doesn’t lose any features, and is still compatible with Devhook. As always, you can download the update according to your region from PlayStation.com or via the PSP’s network update.
