Removing scratches from your PSP screen

While a deep scratch on any LCD screen is going to be pretty permanent, you can make it a lot less noticeable. The best solution is a common abrasive cleaner solution. Since iPods are very popular, there are many solutions designed specifically for the iPod. However, any of these should work on the PSP as well.Something like iCleaner or Ice Creme will do the trick just fine (if you can find something cheaper, go for that).

First, clean the LCD, making sure to get any residue from the scratches, using a screen cleaning cloth. Other materials including household rags may scratch your PSP’s screen even more. Next, apply the solution into the scratches as indicated on the product. You can buffer it gently if needed.

Again, there is no easy way to fix scratches. If you don’t have any already, you better buy a screen protecter because it’s bound to happen sooner or later.

    Hey bre,

First, make sure they are really scratches and not just residue from your cleaning cloth.

If the scratches are really noticeable, then the cheapest and most effective solution would be a CD Scratch Repair Kit. Obviously, it’s designed to get the scratches off a CD, but it will work just as well on your PSP screen.

You can find them at almost any electronics store, and they are very cheap. Just make sure you get the kind with the moist wipes. One wipe removes scratches with a very mild solvent, while the other one polishes and protects the screen.

    Hope that helps!

Dont get too worried guys. You didn’t scratch the screen, you scratched the plastic cover for it… You can buy a new one, as I found the cleaning solutions didn’t work, and it is easy to install, and quite cheap. The bonus is you can get it in differen’t colours & designs. If ordering off a website, try and order a screen protector with it too, to ensure it won’t happen again. You may want to buy a couple of them incase you want to change them later, or if you screw up badly while applying..

    Sup,

My PSP has this huge scratch on the right upper corner of it. It is very rough and visible. It sometimes messes up my gameplay. Will Windex help me remove it or the Ipod things? What should I do?
